Who is We Build Trades? An AI-led growth platform for home service firms

We Build Trades describes itself as an AI-powered growth system for trade and home service businesses, joining website, paid media, automated follow-up and a CRM into one platform. It claims more than 300 trade clients and a method refined since 2017, but publishes no case studies. Here is what the public record supports.

The pitch in one paragraph

We Build Trades does not sell a website, or ads, or a CRM as separate products. It sells the connection between them. The website captures the enquiry, paid media feeds the website, an AI layer chases the enquiry, and a CRM pipeline reports what happened.

That is the same architecture we describe in our breakdown of a trades lead system. The difference with We Build Trades is that it is packaged as a single managed platform rather than assembled from parts.

The company says the system has been refined since 2017 and that 300 or more trade companies have used it. Neither figure is backed by a published case study on its own site, so treat both as claims rather than evidence.

Where it is based

The company's own website does not state a location. An InstallerSHOW exhibitor listing places it in Halesowen in the West Midlands, which is the only address reference we have found.

For a trade business that is a minor point. The platform is delivered remotely and the stated market is UK-wide. It matters only if you prefer an agency you can visit.

What is in the package

Two items on that list stand out. TikTok and Bing are unusual channels for a trades agency, and suggest the company is set up for firms with budgets large enough to test beyond Google and Facebook. Area exclusivity is common among lead-gen agencies, but the terms of how an area is defined are not published, so ask for them in writing.

The AI follow-up component is where We Build Trades sits alongside the firms in our comparison of AI receptionists for trades, though the company presents it as part of the system rather than a standalone product.

  • Websites, built as the capture point for the rest of the system
  • Paid media across Google, Meta, TikTok and Bing
  • AI-powered lead follow-up, meaning automated responses to new enquiries
  • A CRM pipeline with reporting on where each lead sits
  • Area exclusivity, so one client per trade in a given patch

Which trades it names

The site addresses trade and home service businesses generally, with specific mentions of heating, boilers and heat pumps, electrical, roofing, and solar and EV charging. That leans towards the higher ticket, installer end of the market rather than repair and maintenance trades.

Heat pumps, solar and EV charging in particular are sectors where a single job can be worth several thousand pounds and where paid media spend is easier to justify. If you are a one-van handyman, this is unlikely to be the fit. If you run a multi-van installation firm, it is closer to the target.

Pricing

No pricing is published. For a company selling an all-in-one platform that is not surprising, since the paid media element will vary with ad spend. It does mean you cannot benchmark it against the fixed-fee systems in our ranking of marketing systems for trades without a sales conversation.

When you have that conversation, separate the management fee from the ad spend, and ask whether the website and CRM data remain yours if you leave.

How to assess them

The absence of case studies is the main gap. A company claiming 300 clients since 2017 should be able to show a handful of named results. Ask for two references in your trade and call them.

Then ask three specific questions. What does the AI follow-up actually send, and how fast? Who owns the ad accounts? And what does the CRM report measure, because a pipeline that counts leads tells you less than one that counts booked jobs, a point we make at length in measuring marketing in jobs won.

Verdict: A credible-sounding architecture aimed at ambitious multi-van home service firms, with little public proof. Worth a conversation if you are in heating, solar or EV, provided you insist on references first.

Frequently asked questions

Does We Build Trades publish prices?

No. Pricing is not shown on its website, so you will need a sales call to get a figure and should ask for the management fee and ad spend separately.

Which trades does We Build Trades work with?

It targets trade and home service businesses generally, naming heating and heat pumps, electrical, roofing, and solar and EV charging specifically.

Are there case studies?

None are published on its site at the time of writing. The company claims more than 300 trade clients, so asking for references is reasonable.
